Spanish for Families
The Parent and Child Spanish Program in Costa Rica
New in 2006
Do you want to see the best of Costa Rica, while having a true cultural
experience learning Spanish and also developing your knowledge and that of your children? Our
Spanish for Families program is designed so that everyone in the family has
a fantastic time on vacation!
The Parent & Child Program is designed for kids from 10 to 16 years old to
study Spanish together with their parents.
This program creates an experiential setting that, in addition to develop Spanish
proficiency, offers ecotourism and cultural experiences to families. These experiences will
improve your knowledge at
the same time that it strengthens the parent child relationship. Parents and their kids can
learn or improve their Spanish during the first hours of the morning in a
Spanish course with 10 lessons per week, each one
in a group at their respective level. Parent and child also participate in cultural and
entertainment activities together that will give them an opportunity to
interact, talk and really get to know each other again. This 2 week program is
available during May, June, July and August.

Parent and Child Spanish Course schedule:
Monday to Friday
(2 weeks)
8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. 2 x 45 minutes, Spanish lessons
Main topics are applied grammar and conversation.
9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. break
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. learning by doing cultural activities
Activities may include: organic farm visit, Latin food
cooking class, art or handicrafts workshop, tree planting trip,
fruits and vegetables of Costa Rica at the Central market,
Coronado’s cloud forest walk, coffee plantation visit
12:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. lunch break
Monday and Wednesday afternoons 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – fun
activities
Fun activities may include visit to the Museo del niño - Children's museum,
traditional games, visit the Parque Nacional de diversions – amusement
park, participate in an indoor soccer game
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons
free for own activities or participate in the school's
regular activity program.
Accommodation options:
Host family stay and or apartment
living in double or single rooms.
All participants get a free incoming airport transfer to the
selected accommodation.
