Summer Youth Course (Spain)The course price includes 16 social activities and 3 excursions for a 4 week course.
For young students from 14 to 18 years of age who wish to study or practice the Spanish language during the months of July and August, Escuela Internacional has created this course in Malaga and Alcalá de Henares, focusing on the beaches of Malaga and the location of Alcalá de Henares near Madrid. Spanish study abroad in Spain for high school studentsStudents are required to live in host family accommodations with half or full board. The families house students in this age range, so that they can make friends quickly and integrate easily in the culture of Spain.
The lessons included in the Spanish CoursePractical Activities (10 lessons per week)The practical activity portion of this course is designed to reinforce Spanish grammar and vocabulary being learned by taking the students and placing them in everyday situations outside of the classroom. It will develop and improve your reading, writing and oral skills in the Spanish language The practical activities include visits to local stores, supermarkets, historical buildings, parks and other parts of the city. These activities allow the students to practice the Spanish they are learning in real-life situations. Students prepare for the practical activities beforehand in the classroom incorporating the vocabulary and phrases they are learning in the other portion of the course. The professor leads the practical activities and the students may work in pairs. The activities are completed with a class report and group discussion.
Grammar and Vocabulary (10 lessons per week)The in classroom lessons give the students all of the basic Spanish vocabulary and grammar tools that they may need to communicate in the complementary practical activities, outside of class and in their daily life living with a host family. Vocabulary is presented together with brief explanations of grammatical concepts and structural exercises. Each lesson focuses on day-to-day conversations that the students will encounter outside of the classroom with their friends or host family. The content of this part of the course fully complements the Practical Activities.
