Medical Insurance
We hope your stay with Escuela Internacional is healthy and accident free. But if medical care should be necessary it’s best to consider a medical insurance option before arrival.
Students coming from those countries within the European Union that have a
reciprocal agreement with Spain, and who are covered by Social Security within
their own country, will also be entitled to free medical treatment within Spain.
In order to have access to medical services under Spain’s Social Security system
the student must bring the European Union Health Insurance Card.
We recommend that all students who are citizens of countries outside the European Union purchase medical insurance either with Escuela Internacional, or purchase international coverage in their own country.
The medical insurance/policy offered by E.I. covers all types of medical care, including doctor visits, hospitalization, surgical treatment and individual accidents. It does not cover medications and prescriptions outside of hospital care and does not cover dental care. Please refer to complete
policy information to see additional specific exclusions of coverage (Spanish only).
If you purchase international medical insurance in your home country. Most policies work in the following manner. You pay cash for medical services rendered while in Spain. You then take the receipts, etc. home with you and present them to your medical insurance company. Depending on the policy that you have, you would be reimbursed all, or a percentage of, the services you paid. This refund process
normally takes time.
After arrival students will receive information about specific medical centers and doctors in the area.
