Málaga - Arrival
Airport Transfer Service - MálagaArriving to your accommodations could never be easier with Escuela Internacional’s Airport Transfer Service. This service is available from the Málaga airport. If you request this optional service, an E.I. representative will be waiting for you outside of the Baggage Claim Area with a sign that says Escuela Internacional or that has your name written on it. From the airport you will be taken directly to your accommodations. If you have requested to live in one of our student apartments, then our representative will give you the keys to the apartment. Requesting this service you will need to send us your flight details as soon as possible. We must receive your details at least 1 week before your arrival in order to arrange for your pick-up. If on the day of your flight there are any last minute changes, if you miss a connecting flight or your flight is simply delayed please call our emergency number and inform us of these changes so that we can make new transfer arrangements for you. If for whatever reason you are unable to contact us before arriving to Spain, and after leaving the baggage claim area you do not see our representative waiting for you please call our emergency number. Recommendation for parents of minors who request our airport transfer service. Many airlines offer a assistance program for minors who are passengers on their flights. This is usually arranged before travel commences. We recommend that parents request this service in addition to the airport transfer service provided by the school. In this way a flight attendant accompanies the student when they disembark, go through customs, pick up luggage and help them find the school representative. If you also request the departure service our school representative can leave the student at the airport in the care of the airlines flight attendant who would then accompany the student until departure. If you do not request this service from the airline company, our school representative accompanies the student to the airport, but cannot go through the airport to accompany the student to the departure gate, nor can they wait until the flight departs. If two students enroll together and arrive to Spain on the same flight they can solicit a 50% discount on the price of the transportation service for the second person for both arrival and departure. How To Arrive To Your Accommodations On Your OwnHowever if you are a more independent traveler, and would prefer to arrive on your own, we’ve prepared detailed instructions on how to arrive to your accommodations on your own. In this case it is important to remember that if you have requested to live in a family, you should advise our head office of your approximate time of arrival so that we can let the family know when to be at home waiting for you. Regardless of how you choose to arrive, all students who register with Escuela Internacional receive a Student Manual that also includes the information you will find in this section.

*Have some 1 € coins with you for the trip. Bus drivers generally do not make change for 5 € bills or larger. Helpful hints from E.I. students who have made the trip before youHelpful Hint 1When traveling from the Airport to the Paseo del Parque in the center of Malaga, the bus will pass by the bus station. This is not the end of the number 19 bus line, do not get off yet, continue on to your stop at Paseo del Parque. Helpful Hint 2If you make a mistake and get off at the last stop of bus line 19 instead of the next to last stop. All is not lost! Just back track on the same street approximately 250 meters (3 or 4 minutes walking) where you will find the #11 bus stop. Helpful Hint 3:When you get on the bus ask the driver or a fellow passenger if they can let you know when the bus arrives to the stop you want. Try out your Spanish right away. Malaga bus drivers can be friendly, but are certainly not multilingual. If you think you will get stuck, take along some phrases written down in Spanish. At least have the E.I. instructions with you with the names of the bus stops marked, or print out the useful vocabulary and phrases.
