Cuernavaca. This city is the capital city of the Mexican state of Morelos. It has a population of 500,000 people and is located 47 miles (75 km) south of Mexico City.
Cuernavaca is known to the Mexican people as the ‘City of Eternal Spring,’ for its favorable climate and year-round, stable spring like temperatures (21ºC/70ºF). Cuernavaca is a popular weekend destination for Mexico City’s upper class, as many families have second homes there.
Colonial Cuernavaca is a walk-able city filled with historical gardens, palaces, cathedrals, churches, and museums as well as modern-day Artisan markets, cinemas, restaurants, and shops. You will enjoy exploring the city and visiting the many historical sights and monuments that have been well preserved and maintained through the centuries.

Cortes was also responsible, and personally supervised, the construction of Cuernavaca’s Cathedral.

Cuernavaca.
