Airport Transfer Service - Alcalá

Arriving to your accommodations could never be easier with Escuela Internacional’s Airport Transfer Service.

This service is available from the Madrid airport.

An E.I. representative will be waiting for you outside of the Baggage Claim Area with a sign that says Escuela Internacional or that has your name written on it. From the airport you will be taken directly to your accommodations.

If you have requested to live in one of our student apartments, then our representative will give you the keys to the apartment.

Requesting this service you will need to send us your flight details as soon as possible. We must receive your details at least 1 week before your arrival in order to arrange for your pick-up.

If on the day of your flight there are any last minute changes, if you miss a connecting flight or your flight is simply delayed please call our emergency number and inform us of these changes so that we can make new transfer arrangements for you. If for whatever reason you are unable to contact us before arriving to Spain, and after leaving the baggage claim area you do not see our representative waiting for you please call our emergency number.

Recommendation for parents of minors who request our airport transfer service.

Many airlines offer a assistance program for minors who are passengers on their flights. This is usually arranged before travel commences. We recommend that parents request this service in addition to the airport transfer service provided by the school. In this way a flight attendant accompanies the student when they disembark, go through customs, pick up luggage and help them find the school representative. If you also request the departure service our school representative can leave the student at the airport in the care of the airlines flight attendant who would then accompany the student until departure. If you do not request this service form the airline company, our school representative accompanies the student to the airport, but cannot go through the airport to accompany the student to the departure gate, not can they wait until the flight departs.

From the Madrid Airport

By Taxi
Students can take a taxi straight from the airport to their accommodation in Alcalá de Henares.
The journey takes about 20 minutes.

By Train
There is a metro stop connected to the airport located in terminal 4. Arriving on Terminal 4 you can take the metro line number 8 (the pink one) to the metro station Nuevos Ministerios. You can check the website of Madrid Airport to find out on which terminal you fill arrive. www.aena.es See the Metro map. When you arrive to the Nuevos Ministerios Metro Station follow the signs “Tren de Cercanias”. You will need to buy a ticket to Alcalá de Henares. Once you buy your ticket, find the platform 2 for train C-1,C-2 and C-7. These 3 trains will take you to Alcalá. Trains C-1 and C-7 have their final destination in Alcalá de Henares. The C-2 train’s final destination is Guadalajara; Alcalá is a few stops before Guadalajara and should be announced on the train. Please see the map of the train routes here.

The total trip from the airport to the Alcalá train station should take you about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

• Blue Bus #89 Plaza Colon/Aeropuerto - This is a special blue bus for passengers arriving to Spain with ample room for your luggage. When you get on the bus you should tell the driver “Quiero bajar en Canillejas, por favor”. Canillejas is the name of the bus stop that is located three stops from terminal 1.





• Red Bus #101 to Canillejas/Aeropuerto - This is one of the typical busses of Madrid. Although less expensive, you may not be permitted to get on to this bus if you have a lot of luggage. You can take this bus to the last stop, Canillejas, where the driver will ask you to get off.





• From the Canillejas bus stop you should cross the highway using the pedestrian bridge. Directly on the other side you will see a bus stop where you should wait for the number 223 bus to Alcalá de Henares. There is normally one every 15 to 20 minutes. You can place your luggage beneath the bus and then get on. Tell the driver “Quiero ir a Alcalá de Henares”. Take this bus to the last stop.

From the Chamartín Train Station

If you will arrive at the Chamartin Train Station, you should follow the signs “Tren De Cercanias”. You will need to buy a ticket to Alcalá de Henares. Once you buy your ticket, find the platform for train C-1,C-2 and C-7. These 3 trains will take you to Alcalá. Trains C-1 and C-7 have their final destination in Alcalá de Henares. From the Atocha Train Sation

If you will arrive at the Atocha Train Station you should follow the signs “Tren De Cercanias”. You will need to buy a ticket to Alcalá de Henares. From Madrid by Bus

Madrid is well connected to Alcalá de Henares through the Avenida de America bus station. A bus to Alcalá de Henares leaves from Avenida de America every 10 to 20 minutes. The bus that you want is the #223. If you have luggage, you can place it beneath the bus and then get on. Tell the driver “Quiero ir a Alcalá de Henares”. Take this bus to the last stop.
