Intensive Course (Spain)The Spanish courses are centered on the practical aspects of the Spanish language, Spanish which is used in everyday communicative situations. The activities and exercises focus on the development of oral and written skills based on real language communications. The beginner through advanced levels of the Intensive course cover all aspects of Spanish grammar. In the lower levels you will gradually acquire and develop the necessary strategies for comprehension and communication of oral and written language. You will learn to speak and understand Spanish as new language concepts are introduced and reinforced in a logical and progressive manner. In the higher levels you increase your vocabulary and cover more complicated idiomatic phrases and grammatical structures. You will have 2 additional lessons weekly to learn about the Spanish culture. Spanish courses in Spain at E.I. schools provide you real Spanish language practice to learn Spanish well.
The lessons included in the Spanish CourseGrammar and Vocabulary (10 lessons per week)You will learn Spanish vocabulary, idiomatic phrases, grammar concepts, word and sentence structures, useful phrases and language usage. Lessons are structured so that you will first acquire the new vocabulary and grammatical concepts through examples and practice in structured exercises. Then you practice the new concepts in group or pair activities which are patterned after real communicative situations you encounter in everyday life. Reading/Writing (5 lessons per week)In this part of E.I. Spanish courses, you specifically work on developing and improving reading comprehension and written communication. You will learn strategies for understanding a written text. You will produce written texts with teacher guidance and models.
Conversation (5 lessons per week)You specifically work on developing and improving listening comprehension and speaking abilities. Teachers help you to improve pronunciation of Spanish. There is an emphasis on increasing the students command of communication skills through discussion and exchange of information of many topics which may include social, economical, political and cultural aspects of life in Spain or world issues. Topics vary according to course level. Culture (2 lessons per week)You will learn about Hispanic culture through the study of Spain's art, history, literature, music. You will discover cultural elements such as customs, behaviors, typical dress, foods and leisure time activities and make comparison and contrast with the mix of cultures of the students in your class. Topics vary according to level and student interest.
