The Spanish language school in Costa Rica is an independent school of the Escuela Internacional Group. Founded in 1986, it is one of the oldest language schools in Costa Rica. Sharing the same teaching methods and philosophies as those implemented at Escuela Internacional’s Spanish schools in Spain, this center joins E.I. in offering its students a top quality and professional Spanish language education.

The Spanish school in Costa Rica is located in a large house that resides on the grounds of an old farm called “Quinta Toyopan” (Place of the Gods). It is surrounded by 5000 square meters of extensive tropical gardens, that are home to more than 100 different plants and trees, as well as a variety of birds and butterflies. The school location offers a peaceful and relaxed study atmosphere with magnificent panoramic views of the central valley.

The language School itself has 7 classrooms, a reception area with student lounge, computers for further self-studies and e-mail access, a winter garden with a library including daily newspapers, magazines, tourist info, a functional kitchen for making coffee, and administrative office. During the winter months this Center has a total student population of 25-35, while during the summer there are between 15-25 students at the same time.

Traveling to and from the Spanish school is convenient and easy. The majority of the host families live within walking distance and there are public buses that stop at the main entrance to Quinta Toyopan. The main bus station in Coronado is located approximately 850 meters away with buses that leave every 10-15 minutes to Quinta Toyopan.

Choose from a selection of Spanish language and culture courses and lessons that include the Intensive, Super-Intensive, and Individual courses. Experience the benefits of small class sizes (a maximum of 6 students per class), taught by native professors with experience in the direct method of learning a foreign language. Out of class take advantage of the various sports activities available at the Center. These include table tennis, basketball, and mountain bike rentals, all available free of charge (a refundable deposit required for use of mountain bikes).

For other types of sports activities such as swimming, tennis, soccer, and running the school in Costa Rica has an agreement with a nearby Sports Club called La Garena. The first visit is free and for additional visits you may pay for each individual visit or purchase a month membership.
