At Escuela Internacional we believe that suitable accommodations are as important as first class teaching and facilities when your objective is to learn Spanish abroad. That is why we visit and carefully select each of the accommodations we offer our students. E.I. arranges families, student apartments, hotels and hostels in Madrid-Alcalá de Henares, Salamanca and Malaga with equal care. You can choose one or combine more than one option during your stay in Spain.

The two most popular options among E.I. students who study abroad in Spain are accommodations with a Spanish host family or in a shared international student apartment. Both of these choices offer a unique experience and the perfect compliment to your Spanish language course.

Host Family Accommodations

Immerse yourself in the Spanish language and culture by having us arrange your accommodations with one of Escuela Internacional’s select host families. Almost all E.I. students choose to live with a host family during the first weeks of their program. These families are chosen carefully and monitored through regular inspections and student feedback.

The benefits of immersion in a selected family

Living with a host family is one of the best ways to learn in depth about the country that you are visiting, its culture and its people, and also allows you to listen to and learn the Spanish language in its most natural form. Daily contact with your host family will quickly enhance your understanding of local customs and culture. In no time at all you will be picking up common idiomatic phrases and expressions. In addition, you can enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with the independence of having your own key. All of E.I.’s families are centrally located so that you will never have to take the bus to school.

What is included in the price of a Host Family?

• Single or Double Room
• Full board (3 meals a day) or half board (breakfast and lunch or dinner)
• Bed linens and towels
• Laundry services are included in the price of accommodations
• The host family can cater to your special needs or diets.

• You can combine your stay in a family and a student apartment
(minimum two weeks in each type of accommodation)

• Courts for basketball, volleyball,  soccer, as well as an indoor court.

Student Apartment Accommodations “the independent option”

If you would prefer to live in an apartment with other international students while you learn Spanish abroad, E.I. offers well-placed student apartments at no more than a 25 minute walk from the school.

The benefits of choosing the “independent option”

Sharing an apartment means that you will live with other international students and have the chance to learn about their own countries and cultures. In choosing this option you can make new, international friends that could last a lifetime!

All student apartments are furnished and have a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. They are not luxurious, but have everything you may need: a television, stove, refrigerator and washing machine. In choosing this “indedpendent option” you will need to bring bed linens and towels.

What is included in the price of a Student Apartment

• Single or Double Room
• Shared use of the kitchen and other common areas of the apartment.
• The cost of electricity and water.

Plan for these additional costs when choosing the shared apartment option:

Gas is not included in the price of a student apartment. You can estimate about 3,50 euros per week for gas expenses.
Purchasing food and / or eating in restaurants. (Find budget planning help with our price list of basic food items to compare with those of your home country.)

Hotels and Hostals

If you would prefer to stay in a hotel or a hostal, Escuela Internacional can reserve a room for you. All budgets and requirements can be accommodated.

If you should select this housing option, we advise you to make reservations through us at least one month in advance year round but especially during the summer/vacation season.
