Costa Rica - Activities and Excursions
At E.I. Costa Rica enjoy participating in a variety of weekly activities organized by the
Spanish language school through their “Leisure Time Activities” program. The school guarantees 3-4 weekly activities that will give you the chance to learn more about the Costa Rican culture, its local customs, visit nearby sights of historical and cultural interest, get to know your peers better, and of course practice Spanish!
Learn about Costa Rican culture and travel in Costa Rica while you learn Spanish
abroad.
The school week starts off with a city tour of San Rafael so you can better acquaint yourself with the town and what it has to offer. As the week progresses the activities will include Latin dance lessons and cooking classes at the center. One day you will be learning the basic steps to salsa, rumba, and cumbia (or join the school for a trip to a salsa disco to practice what you’ve learned) and the next participate in the cooking classes or traditional Costa Rican food tasting.
A minimal charge for activities may apply.
Every Thursday half-day tours and visits to nearby sights of interest are also included on the activities itinerary. These tours each cost $12 and students are responsible for their own entrance fees and food. There are a total of 12 tour destinations that repeat every three months. A few of these include, visits to Poas Volcano, Irazu Volcano, Braulio Carrillo National Park, Orosi Valley, the Waterfall and Colibiries gardens and butterfly exposition, a city tour of San Jose.
The weekends are yours to explore Costa Rica as you please. Costa Rica is a nature lovers´ paradise filled with spectacular waterfalls, rain forests, cloud forests, ocean and mountains. Costa Rica is home to a range of habitats and incredibly rich flora and some of the most varied fauna on the planet.
Plan the perfect weekend adventure or getaway with the help of the small and friendly travel agency located inside the school. They can provide you with trip suggestions, travel and accommodation information as well as assist you in making reservations. Choose from half-day, full day or weekend trips options.
